layerX Unveils Industry’s First Universal Event Correlation & Response Capability
New feature brings real-time collection, correlation, and proactive response to any security or network event
COPPELL, Texas, November 5 2007 — layerX Technologies, a pioneer in delivering real-time security, systems, and process management solutions, today announced the industry’s first universal event correlation, and response capability available within their flagship management solution, Arbitrator™.
This unique capability allows clients to consolidate their system logs, SNMP traps, performance data, and physical security events into a single environment and quickly create rules to correlate and alert on any event or combination of events. With this capability clients can instantly analyze millions of events across their network and, at the touch of a button, create rules to alert or take action on any behavior within their network, regardless of the event type.
“Real-time event collection and correlation has become a basic necessity in the security management world, but remains a relatively new capability for traditional fault and performance management technologies” said Michael Kay, Vice President of Market Development for layerX. “With today’s announcement, we’ve effectively made real-time event correlation and response a universal function. The feature enables clients to instantly analyze behaviors across their entire infrastructure and quickly build rules to alert on them in real-time. Additionally, for clients with advanced alerting needs Arbitrator’s integrated Response Management Engine allows clients to tailor alert actions to their specific needs including alert procedures, escalation actions, and even automated infrastructure control.
Universal event correlation and response is available immediately as a core feature in Arbitrator™, and as a free upgrade for existing layerX customers.
